📄️ World Description
The world is a big place. Ferocious ranges of mountains—the Galarin and Veladrin—enclose the mighty river Galdur that courses through fertile plains, dense forest, and free cities. This is not a land of empires, but rather of small polities: free cities, city-states, and small feudal kingdoms dot the rich plains, building castles upon the hills, and trading among the navigable waterways.
📄️ Haldren
Haldren is a major Free City situated at the confluence of the Galdur and Maladur rivers. One of the region's most populous cities, it is an economic and diplomatic backbone of the Galdur Valley region. The City is ruled by a executive council of five wizards, elected semidemocratically.
📄️ The Valley Kingdoms
Surrounding the Free City of Haldren are the Valley Kingdoms, an assortment of eleven small kingdoms operating on a largely feudal basis. Generally speaking, the kingdoms are run by either a single powerful mage or a small consortium of less powerful ones. there's a natural balance to the power of leaders. If a leader becomes too powerful, the others ally against them; likewise, if they are too weak, then they are deposed.
